Humans can survive in this universe as long as we have an energy source. Unfortunately, the universe will die. It will happen slowly, over many billions of years, but it will happen. On a universal time scale, stars like our sun will be gone in no time. The following video will tell you about “The Last Light Before Eternal Darkness White Dwarfs Black Dwarfs“. The Last Light Before Eternal Darkness White Dwarfs Black Dwarfs

Luckily, there are places that will exist practically forever from a human perspective: the corpses of dead stars…white dwarfs. They could be humanity’s last home right before the death of the universe. What are these strange things and what happens when they finally die?

How long stars live varies drastically, depending on how massive they are. For example, really massive stars burn hot and fast, dying violently in supernovae a few million years after birth. But they’re the exception.97% of all-stars will end their existence as white dwarfs. There are two ways this can happen:

Small stars – so-called red dwarfs – burn out over trillions of years until they eventually quietly turn into white dwarfs. Medium-sized stars like our Sun are more interesting. Imagine the sun as a huge pressure cooker that fuses hydrogen into helium in its core through its gravity.

The fusion of elements releases extreme amounts of energy,
that pushes outwards and stabilizes the star, keeping it in a delicate balance. When the Sun is old, the hydrogen in the core is exhausted,
and the Sun will begin to burn helium into heavier elements. While doing so, it will shed its outer layers.

When this process is over more than half of the Sun’s mass will be lost into space as a spectacular planetary nebula millions of kilometers across. What remains will be its former core: A white dwarf is born, a star corpse.

While its former self was about 100 times its diameter, now it’s only about as big as Earth, but still with about half of its former mass. This means it’s extremely dense, a teaspoon of the white dwarf is about as massive as a car. It is surface gravity is over 100,000 times higher than Earth’s.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "The Last Light Before Eternal Darkness White Dwarfs Black Dwarfs" 3

If you tried to land on it, you’d immediately be compressed into a steaming puddle. Life around a white dwarf is very unlikely but possible. Most of them that exist now were former stars that, well, died, which probably ruined any planets they once had.

But that’s not all: since they are so small, a planet would need to orbit them about 75 times closer than Earth is to the Sun to have liquid water. This proximity has up- and downsides: for one, it would tidally lock the planet giving it a permanent day and permanent night.

At the edges of these day and night zones, life could be possible. But white dwarfs have a very stable energy output, so they might actually be safer to live around than many red dwarfs. This is still speculation at this point, but if we could find the white dwarf with the right conditions to settle around, we could have a home for many billions of years.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "The Last Light Before Eternal Darkness White Dwarfs Black Dwarfs" 4

But why do they shine so much longer than other star types?
White dwarfs are very, very hot – up to 40 times hotter than our Sun -ranking among the hottest objects in the universe. But they are not incredibly active. All the heat inside of them is trapped and has nowhere to go.

Only on its outer layer can it escape into space. But space is mostly empty, so heat can’t be transferred by conduction. The only way energy can escape is by radiation. This is so inefficient that white dwarfs will take trillions of years to cool down, which may make them humanity’s last refuge.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "The Last Light Before Eternal Darkness White Dwarfs Black Dwarfs" 5

They might be the last sources of light and energy in a dying universe. According to some estimates, white dwarfs might shine as long as 100 billion years, ten billion times longer than the universe has existed.

So far into the future that no regular stars will shine anymore, galaxies will have evaporated, and only then will the first white dwarf turn into the first black dwarf. When this happens the last hope for life will die off.

Black dwarfs will be inactive spheres with no energy left to give,
still massive enough to kill you if you get too close. So cold that they’ll be near the coldest possible temperature in the universe,
so dark that they are practically invisible.T

he universe will enter its last stage – heat death – which will leave the universe unrecognizable, an absolutely dark and cold graveyard,
with black holes and black dwarfs scattered over trillions of lightyears. We don’t know for sure what will happen with black dwarfs in the end.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "The Last Light Before Eternal Darkness White Dwarfs Black Dwarfs" 6

If the proton – one of the fundamental parts of atoms – has a limited lifespan, black dwarfs will slowly evaporate over many trillions of years. If the proton does not decay, black dwarfs will probably turn into spheres of pure ion via quantum tunneling, over a timespan
so obscenely gigantic that calling it forever is okay.

These ion spheres will then travel completely alone through a dark universe. Nothing new will happen anymore… forever. While this may sound kind of dark, this is so far away that for our purposes today, it might as well not happen at all. It doesn’t matter what happens in a billion trillion years.

Where Did Earth’s Water Come From

Unlike every other planet in our solar system, Earth’s surface is 70% liquid water, which while useful for life, is also kind of weird, because everything we know about how and when our planet formed says Earth’s surface should be bone dry.

The story goes like this: our solar system formed from the collapse of a large cloud of dust and gas. The dense blob of gas at the center ignited to form the sun, which as a young, unstable star unleashed a fierce solar wind. Over time this stream of charged particles pushed the remaining gas cloud farther and farther out, leaving only solid particles behind to clump together into rocks, planetesimals, and finally, the rocky planets of the inner solar system that we know today.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "Where Did Earth's Water Come From" 7

And here’s the problem: water, in the form of ice, couldn’t have been one of the solid particles that stuck around, because the early inner solar system was far too hot for frozen water and any water vapor would have been blasted away by the solar wind.

So if Earth didn’t start off with water, how did we end up with such splendid oceans? We know H2O wasn’t manufactured here over the eons, because natural processes like combustion, breathing and photosynthesis create and destroy roughly equal amounts of water – and either way, the amounts in question are so miniscule that they can’t account for the abundance of water on the planet.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "Where Did Earth's Water Come From" 8

Since Earth’s water was neither part of the original package nor manufactured here, it must have flown in from far away, on meteoroids or comets or other bodies originating in the outer solar system where they were far enough from the Sun for frozen water to survive.

Comets, being dirty iceballs, are a logical candidate for the source of our water, but were ruled out when we discovered that they are far richer in heavy hydrogen (that’s hydrogen with a neutron as well as a proton in its nucleus) than Earth water.

For every million hydrogen atoms in Earth water, about 150 are heavy ones, while typical comet water has twice that many. These mismatched chemical signatures suggest that Earth’s water could not have arrived on comets.

It turns out that the most likely source for Earth’s water is a type of meteorite called a carbonaceous chondrite. Chondrite is just the name given to the class of stony meteoroids that most commonly
strike the Earth.

youtube downloader video

But only the carbonaceous chondrites contain water – as well as lots of carbon if you couldn’t tell from their name. They have water in them because they formed out beyond the sun’s “frost line”, and what’s more, their water has levels of heavy hydrogen similar to that of earth water, strongly suggesting that these earth-crashers are the source of our ice caps, clouds, rivers, and oceans.

And thus the water that turned our planet into a blue marble came, quite literally, out of the blue.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF “Why Are Adults Bad At New Languages”

You’ve probably heard that an old dog can’t learn new tricks – and that’s mostly true. The following video will tell you the reason. You can use youtube downloader to collect the video.

Why Are Adults Bad At New Languages

While senior dogs can be better than puppies at solving some small puzzles – it seems like there’s some barrier to them picking up totally new behaviors. And the same is true for an old human – or an “adult” as I’m sometimes called.

While we’re better than little kids at learning to do specific tasks, we’re often worse at mastering new complex skills – including languages. In fact, compared to people who start learning a second language before age 10, people who start, after they hit double digits, are way less likely to ever attain a native-like fluency.

You might think that’s because there’s something about young rains – as opposed to old brains – that makes them more amenable to learning complicated new things. But the real culprits may be two sociological barriers that come with adulting.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "Why Are Adults Bad At New Languages" 9
Accuracy as a function of years of experience, by age of first exposure for immersion learners (A) and non-immersion learners (B). Red: monolinguals. Orange: AoFE < 11. Green: 10 < AoFE < 21. Blue: AoFE > 20. (Image from original paper)

The first is that adults usually don’t invest as much in learning a new language as kids do. When a family immigrates to a country with a new language, the kids will almost certainly need to use that language to learn stuff at school, to make friends, and to keep up with pop culture.

The parents, though, won’t necessarily have to use the new language at their jobs, they’ll often already have friends who speak their native language, and, well, adults usually care more about the old pop culture of their youth.

And – importantly – when an adult wants to take a break from using a new language, they usually can. But kids often have to keep trying even when they don’t want to, which means they do it more, which helps them gain fluency quicker.

YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER VIDEO OF "Why Are Adults Bad At New Languages" 10
The top quartile of results of learners who started after the age of 20, by number of years of exposure, showing that at around 8–10 years of exposure, many learners who started well into adulthood do just as well as many native speakers. All results above the 0.9 line are in the native results range.

The other barrier that adults have to overcome is that while adults are good at following directions, which can often help us beat kids at specific tasks like applying a new verb tense, we tend to see a new language as a massive set of rules to be followed. And we’re so worried that we’ll “do mistakes” and “talks wrongly” that we end up not using the new language very much while kids who are way less risk-averse in general use it a lot more.

And it turns out that the risky approach – simply letting loose and trying to communicate as often as possible in as many situations as
possible – mistakes and all – seems to be the very best way to learn a new language. There are a few other reasons why an adult might have trouble learning a new language, but if they find reasons to be invested in the new language, use effective strategies, and forgo worrying about mistakes, they can knock down these two big barriers and become bilingual.

In fact, using these strategies, some adults have learned to fluently speak several extra One of those hyperlinguists – Kató Lomb started learning new languages after age 10 and kept learning more and more throughout her life – including a final language when she was well into her 80s.

How’s that for breaking down barriers? This video was sponsored by the University of Minnesota, where students, faculty, and staff across all fields of study are working to solve the Grand Challenges facing society.

One of these challenges is enhancing individual and community capacity for a changing world, which includes figuring out how we can all communicate better with one another.

You know that little pink thing nestled in the corner of your eye?  Now, you can use youtube video downloader to download this video from youtube.

Why do humans have a third eyelid?

It’s actually the remnant of a third eyelid. Known as the “plica semilunaris,” it’s much more prominent in birds and a few mammals,
and functions like a windshield wiper to keep dust and debris out of their eyes. But in humans, it doesn’t work. It’s vestigial, meaning it no longer serves its original purpose.

There are several other vestigial structures like the plica semilunaris in the human body. Most of these became vestigial long before homo sapiens existed, quietly riding along from one of our ancestor species to the next. But why have they stuck around for so long?

To answer this question, it helps to understand natural selection.
Natural selection simply means that traits that help an organism survive and reproduce in a given environment are more likely to make it to the next generation.

best youtube video downloader of "Why do humans have a third eyelid?" 11

As the environment changes, traits that were once useful can become harmful. Those traits are often selected against, meaning they gradually disappear from the population. But if a trait isn’t actively harmful, it might not get selected against, and stick around even though it isn’t useful.

Take the tailbone. Evolutionary biologists think that as the climate got drier and grasslands popped up, our tail-bearing ancestors left the trees and started walking on land. The tails that had helped them
in the trees began to disrupt their ability to walk on land.

So individuals with mutations that reduced the length of their tails
became more successful at life on land, surviving long enough to pass their short tails on to the next generation. The change was likely gradual over millions of years until, about 20 million years ago,
our ancestors’ external tails disappeared altogether.

Today, we know human embryos have tails that dissolve as the embryo develops. But the stubby tailbone sticks around, probably because it doesn’t cause any harm— in fact, it serves a more minor function as the anchor point for certain other muscles.

best youtube video downloader of "Why do humans have a third eyelid?" 12

Up to 85% of people have a vestigial muscle called the “palmaris longus.” To see if you do, put your hand down on a flat surface and touch your pinkie to your thumb. If you see a little band pop up in the middle of your wrist, that’s the tendon that attaches to this
now-defunct muscle.

In this case, the fact that not everyone has it has helped us trace its function. Vestigial traits can persist when there’s no incentive to lose them— but since there’s also no incentive to keep them, random mutations will sometimes still eliminate them from part of the population.

Looking at our primate relatives, we can see that the palmaris longus is sometimes absent in those that spend more time on the land, but always present in those that spend more time in trees.
So we think it used to help us swing from branch to branch, and became unnecessary when we moved down to land.

The appendix, meanwhile, may once have been part of the intestinal system our ancestors used for digesting plant materials. As their diets changed, those parts of the intestinal system began to shrink.
Unlike other vestigial structures, though, the appendix isn’t always harmless— it can become dangerously inflamed.

youtube video downloader

For most of human history, a burst appendix could be a death sentence. So why did it stick around? It’s possible that it was very slow on it’s way out, or that mutations simply hadn’t arisen to make it smaller. Or maybe it has other benefits— for example, it might still be a reservoir of bacteria that helps us break down food.

But the fact is, we’re not really sure why the appendix persists.
Evolution is an imperfect process. Human beings are the result of millions of years of trial, error, and random chance— and we’re full of evolutionary relics to remind us of that.

YOUTUBE VIDEO DOWNLOADER OF “If superpowers were real-Super strength”

If you wake up one morning with 1,000 times the strength you had the night before, how will you handle delicate day-to-day tasks? Today, the video will tell the detail and you can use youtube video downloader to download this video from youtube.

If superpowers were real-Super strength

Everything must seem so fragile to you since the scale of your strength has expanded one thousand times.

You’d have to be very careful when you’re shaking someone’s hand, so you don’t end up breaking their bones or crushing everyone you hug. And using a fork to pick up a piece of broccoli from a Styrofoam plate without driving the fork through the plate is going to be as difficult as brain surgery.

Say the day comes and you get the chance to save a damsel in distress falling from a helicopter. So, you hold out your arms,
hoping to catch her. Seconds later, you will find yourself holding her lifeless body.

YOUTUBE VIDEO DOWNLOADER OF "If superpowers were real-Super strength" 13

What happened? Well, pressure is force divided by area. The smaller the area, the bigger the pressure. This is why we can lift heavy objects without breaking our skin, but a tiny needle can make us bleed with just a little poke.

The pressure that will be exerted on her body can be calculated by force divided by the area on the top of your arms that comes in contact with her. It doesn’t matter if your arms are strong enough
to catch her body without breaking your bones.

Her spine is not strong enough to be caught by you without being damaged. Even if you rip off the nearest door to provide a bigger
area to catch her with, you still wouldn’t be able to save her anyway.
Remember, it’s not the fall that kills her, but the sudden stop at the bottom.

Let’s say she’s falling from a 32 story building, about 300 feet, and you are 6 feet tall, maybe 10 feet on your tippy-toes, with your arms above your head holding a door, in hopes of distributing the pressure
across a larger surface area, but all you’re doing is essentially moving the ground up by 10 feet.

So, she’s now falling from 290 feet, instead of 300 feet, reaching the speed of 173 feet per second just before impact, not counting air resistance. It’s the equivalent of crashing at 94 miles per hour
into a wall with a door in front of it.

The only thing that could save her is flying. But that power comes with its own host of scientific issues. If you could fly, what you must do is fly up to her, start flying down at the speed she is falling,
hold on to her, then gradually slow down until you come to a complete stop.

This process requires a lot of cushion space between the point she starts falling and the ground. Every second you waste on changing into your superhero costume and flying up to her height, her head is getting that much closer to the pavement!

youtube video downloader

If she’s falling from a high place, and you can’t get to her until she’s only a few feet above the ground, there’s really nothing you can do other than magically turn the pavement into marshmellow to allow her enough time to slowly come to a stop. Then, break out the chocolate and graham crackers and you’ve got s’ mores. Mmmm, delicious!

YOUTUBE VIDEO DOWNLOADER OF “What is the Uncertainty Principle”

Quantum mechanics is weird, right? But did you know that some of its supposed peculiarities are not unique to quantum physics but are just properties of waves in general?  The following video will tell what is it and you can use a youtube video downloader to download this video from youtube.

Notice: download videos and mp3 must be licensed by the version owner and used only for study and research, and not for commercial use and dissemination.

What is the Uncertainty Principle

Take the uncertainty principle – it says that the better we know where a particle is, the less we know about how fast it’s going.
There’s a limit to how much we can know! But this isn’t just quantum weirdness – it happens all the time with normal everyday
waves!

Remember that the frequency of a wave is how close the wave crests are to each other – a low-frequency wave doesn’t have nearly as much oomph as a high-frequency one! And the position of a wave is… well, where the wave is… mostly.

YOUTUBE VIDEO DOWNLOADER OF "What is the Uncertainty Principle" 14

So where exactly is a wave? It’s spread out everywhere, right?
Ok, but for a wave pulse, it’s pretty easy to see where the wave is.
So now that we know where the pulse is, what’s it’s frequency?
Well, a localized pulse doesn’t really “wave”, so we can’t measure the frequency of its crests!

youtube video downloader

And that’s the uncertainty principle in a nutshell – you can either know where a wave is or where it’s going, but not both at the same time!

YOUTUBE VIDEO DOWNLOADER OF “Why Do Rivers Curve”

Compared to the whitewater streams that tumble down mountainsides, the meandering rivers of the plains may seem tame and lazy. Today, the video will tell the detail and you can use youtube video downloader to download this video from youtube.

Notice: download videos and mp3 must be licensed by the version owner and used only for study and research, and not for commercial use and dissemination.

Why Do Rivers Curve

But mountain streams are corralled by the steep-walled valleys they carve – their courses are literally set in stone. Out on the open plains, those stony walls give way to soft soil, allowing rivers much more freedom to shift their banks and set their own ever-changing courses to the sea: courses that almost never run straight.

At least not for long, because all it takes to turn a straight stretch of river into a bendy one is a little disturbance and a lot of time  – and in nature, there’s plenty of both.

YOUTUBE VIDEO DOWNLOADER OF “Why Do Rivers Curve” 15

Say, for example, that a muskrat burrows herself a den in one bank of a stream. Her tunnels make for a cozy home,  but they also weaken the bank, which eventually begins to crumble and slump into the stream. Water rushes into the newly-formed hollow, sweeping away loose dirt and making the hollow even hollower, which lets the water rush a little faster and sweep away a little more dirt from the bank…and so on, and so on.

As more of the stream’s flow is diverted into the deepening hole on one bank and away from the other side of the channel, the flow there weakens and slows. And since slow-moving water can’t carry
the sand-sized particles that fast-moving water can, that dirt drops to the bottom and builds up to make the water there shallower
and slower, and then keeps accumulating until the edge of the stream becomes new land on the inside bank.

Meanwhile, the fast-moving water near the outside bank sweeps out of the curve with enough momentum to carry it across the channel and slam it into the other side, where it starts to carve another curve. And then another, and then another, and then another.

YOUTUBE VIDEO DOWNLOADER OF “Why Do Rivers Curve” 16

The wider the stream, the longer it takes the slingshotting current to reach the other side, and the greater the downstream distance to the next curve. In fact, measurements of meandering streams all over the world reveal a strikingly regular pattern: the length of one S-shaped meander tends to be about six times the width of the channel. So little tiny meandering streams tend to look just like miniature versions of their bigger relatives.

As long as nothing gets in the way of a river’s meandering, its curves will continue to grow curvier and curvier until they loop around and bumble into themselves. When that happens, the river follows the straighter path downhill, leaving behind a crescent-shaped remnant called an oxbow lake. Or a billabong. Or a lago en Herradura. Or a bras mort …

We have lots of names for these lakes, since they can occur pretty much anywhere liquid flows – which brings up an interesting question: what do the Martians call them?
